Andrew Ellis live music Folk Redlands

Like many Folk clubs, Folk Redlands is crewed by a small, enthusiastic bunch of volunteers with many supporting friends and artists. The music we promote is principally in the genre of Folk and Acoustic music, be it Traditional, Celtic, Australian or Contemporary. We Believe that there are many excellent clubs that fill the more traditional position of a hotel type venue and run (generally) in the evening. Whilst this is fine and even preferred by some people, we have deliberately aimed our club at the whole family. We have developed a format that seems very popular, we start the afternoon at 2pm with the Blackboard session where all musicians are invited to perform material conforming to the general folk genre, for approximately 20 minutes each. At around 4pm our Headline act performs until 5pm when we close the gathering.

Concert afternoons are held in the meeting room, which is air conditioned. The adjoining tea-rooms are open for refreshments, served either outside on the deck or inside. (BYO)

Many of the older members of our community some times find it difficult to attend an evening performance. Similarly young children and parents of same also find it difficult to attend an evening performance. For these reasons we are on at a time and day that most if not all the family can attend from 2pm till 5pm on the 1st, 3rd (and 5th if there is one) Sunday of each month.
